Project Overview

Background

The El Corredor Portuario highway was constructed to alleviate traffic in the Barranquilla area. CONVIAS needed to stabilize the elevated highway and prevent flooding of the nearby neighborhoods.

Why CMI

TDM Colombia chose ShoreGuard® because it was durable, easy to install and allowed for savings over the original design. ShoreGuard® didn’t react with the harsh chemicals in the soil, making it the ideal material.

Installation

A Vibratory Plate Compactor was used to install the sheet piles. Steel rods anchored the wall to a continuous concrete “dead man”, reducing materials cost by 33%.
