Cape Marina: proof of the longevity of Gator docks

In Port Canaveral, Florida, just across from where Disney Cruise Line ships depart, is the area’s largest marina for boaters. Cape Marina offers 90 slips for boats from 15 feet to over 140 feet, along with a store, fueling, dry storage, and repair services.

When Mike Legge began working at Cape Marina 35 years ago, the business was much smaller. About 200 feet of aluminum docks and finger piers, installed three years previously by GatorDock, is still in service today.  Over the years, Legge says, Cape Marina kept expanding—and kept ordering more structures from its original supplier, GatorDock.  The new additions total more than 300 feet, including a 35-foot gangway.

What has made Cape Marina a repeat customer for almost four decades?  According to Legge, one major factor is the durability of GatorDock products—as demonstrated by the original docks that have been in service for 38 years. “There’s almost no maintenance.  We don’t have to worry about wood rotting or concrete cracking,” he said.

He noted another key reason for the long relationship:  “We’ve never had a problem working with Gator. Each time we order, they were quick to get it to us.”

Thanks, Mike!  Here’s to our next 35 years serving you and Cape Marina!
